Valley Music Festival
Inyerface Arts and Bolsterstone Male Voice Choir have joined forces to produce and present an exciting all day music event. Plans are now taking shape for our music festival in March 2018, celebrating the talent of the people who live and work in our corner of North Sheffield.
We hope to put the Valley on the map, support local groups and raise money to set up a fund to help aspiring young musicians access opportunities and develop their skills.
GREAT RESPONSE FROM LOCAL GROUPS
A great big thank you to everyone who has agreed to participate. The organising committee has been bowled over by the response from community groups, local schools and solo and ensemble performers. So far eight local choirs, two youth choirs and all of the schools in the Valley have expressed an interest in taking part.
We also have local rock and jazz bands, classical ensembles and soloists. During the event the Inyerface Arts House Band will be available to accompany young pop and rock singers and will be playing a set in the evening.
We are grateful for the support of “The Venue” and Fox Valley and have secured two performing stages, the band stand at Fox Valley and the main stage at the Venue. Hilary will be in touch early in the New Year to sort out performance slots and times.
THE AFTERNOON SESSIONS
The Fox Valley & Venue afternoon sessions will be free events and we will ask for donations.
EVENING CONCERT at THE VENUE
The evening event will be a ticketed concert featuring community groups headlined by Bolsterstone Male Voice Choir and other choirs, bands and schools. More young performers will perform with the rock band. The evening will showcase all styles of music and will be an all age event with, we hope, something for everyone! We plan to raise the roof at the end with a mass sing of the Rita McNeil classic “Working Man” accompanied by the bands. Ticket Details to be announced.
