Well not quite we do prefer our singers to be alive and well. Right now, Stannington Choir is looking for new members to boost the ranks and we are especially desperate for Men. We do have a strong Bass and Tenor male section but unfortunately it only needs a few to be away on holiday at the same time and we risk getting the sound balance out. That’s why we need a few more men.
If you enjoy singing then being part of a choir can be incredibly rewarding. It is both a good physical and mental exercise with many health benefits including breathing, stamina and memory retention. Its also good for your self esteem and well being and a great way to socialise and make new friends.
At Stannington Choir we welcome everyone (Men and Women) with no auditions and a very friendly supportive atmosphere to our practice sessions. We have a vast repertoire and sing all kinds of music from pop , rock , theatre and musicals to classical works. We are also about to start a new season learning something fun and new in support of our chosen charity “Young Minds” so there is no time like the present to come a try us out.
We meet every Thursday Evening at 7:30pm in Stannington Sheffield at the Knowle Top Chapel Methodist Church. You can come along and try for free for a few weeks to see if you enjoy it and the music is provided.
Just pop in and see us and ask for Dave , Wendy , Sue or Hilary and we will make you welcome.
Following on from our Christmas break the first Practice sessions commence on January 16th 2020 at 7:30pm.
