Musical Director – Hilary Osborn (B.Mus Hons MA)

Hilary Osborn Musical Director2Hilary is very active in Community Music circles and has a passion for making performing and music opportunities available for everyone. She is an experienced choral conductor and has directed a number of community choirs over the last 25 years. She is also the founder and director of the Inyerface Arts Group (www.inyerfacearts.com) and with this group has directed and produced music theatre performances and concerts  in the Crucible Main House and Studio, the Library Theatre, the Merlin Theatre and the Victoria Hall

Hilary is a classically trained singer having trained with Dorothy Murphy formerly of the Royal Opera House and John Dethick formerly Principal Baritone of the English National Opera. She is a music graduate of the University of Sheffield. Her studies included vocal performance, Baroque performance practice, mediaeval song, traditional and popular music, opera and music drama. She also holds an MA in Community Music from the University of York

Hilary has a keen interest in and knowledge of the Sheffield Local Carol Tradition. In the past she worked very closely with the late Jack Goodison and continues to promote local carols throughout the community.

Hilary enjoys performing and also has many years of teaching experience and is  currently working with the Sheffield Music Academy (www.themusicacademy.eu)  and a number of schools in the Sheffield area.
